Well I am buying a new car, a hot hatch at that! Should I get the ST, GTI or the MS3?

Honestly, since it depends on preference and priorities (legroom vs cargo space, creature comforts vs handling, etc) I'd say test drive them and see what suits you and your needs best. I personally would get the ST, but that's just me.

I'm slightly biased, but I'd go with the MS3. I like the looks of it, and they sound fantastic.

I've never driven a GTI or ST (I drove a standard Fiesta, but pretty sure you are talking Focus)... so my opinion is un-informed, but MS3! It's out-dated, yes. Think you know what real torque steer is like? You will. It's plastic-y and you can't get fancy plaid, much leather seats, but:

It's crazy fun.

My parents, admittedly both appliance car drivers, test drove a MS3 and a ST around town. First things first: My dad had the time of his life and smiled in who knows how long. Which made him smile more? The MS3. If you're about fastest speed do the ST, but the MS3 is the best for laughs.

ST, best all around I think.

The GTI, overall reliability issues. The Mazda, maybe rust issues. The Mazda also does not have an LSD, where the GTI and ST do, I believe...

I've driven the MS3 and both the Focus and Fiesta ST. Unfortunately they were about a year apart, and I drove the Ford's at an autocross and the MS3 on the street. I had more fun in the ST's, but that could have just been because of the autocross.
